Meet Gabrielle
I completed a university program in the United States and worked there as a medical technologist in laboratories for many years. After seeing so many sick people suffer, I wanted to help with the healing process, but knew that even though I had an analytical mind, medical school was not for me. I chose a graduate program in Traditional Chinese Medicine and attended the Academy of Oriental Medicine in Austin, Texas, for four years-our professors were chosen from the most prestigious universities in China such as Chengdu.
I also studied Zen Shiatsu with Pam Ferguson, who often teaches in Switzerland. After graduation, I practiced in Austin for six years, treating diverse conditions such as pain, hormonal imbalances, anxiety, and immune disorders.
I always missed the beautiful Swiss landscape of my childhood though, and was happy to have the chance to move back to Switzerland. In the summer of 2009 my husband, our dog and I moved to St. Gallen, where we enjoy hiking in the Appenzell, and visiting relatives.
What I offer:
- You can feel confident you’re understood:
I speak fluent Swiss-German, as well as English. That means that what you have to say stays between us; I won’t need a translator. - You don’t need to be afraid of the needles
I practice Japanese needling. In this style, the practitioner receives the energy of the patient through the needle. In the Chinese style of needling, practiced by others, the patient feels the energy of the practitioner, through needle stimulation. I let your energy come to me. - My treatments are effective
I had a very good education, after which I was lucky enough to be guided to the study of Kiiko Matsumoto and David Euler’s work on acupuncture. In this style, the patient’s body guides me in the selection of acupuncture points. Many people feel immediate relief. - Your herbal prescription will be customized
Getting the herbs to address the root cause of your various symptoms takes some thought. I enjoy the challenge of writing a good formula. I also serve as a supervisor to students studying herbs at the Academy of Chinese Healing Arts.
